I truly own the 26". I wasn't too positive regarding shopping for it however the value was nice. i feel it's a good TV. it's stunned me in some ways. initial I did'nt even are aware of it was 110V/220V until my son plugged into the 220V socket and blew up the Wii however the TV survived. conjointly as we have a tendency to live abroad it did'nt want a converter for the cable system here. i'm pretty positive it's PAL here though i did need to use a RF box to seek out the channel. i'm positive there's the simplest way to try and do it however i'm not huge on reading the manual. Anyway i like this TV, the colours are nice.

Having a 42 inch Philips LCD HDTV delivered today. I have an HD DVR cable box. Do I need an HDMI cable?
ie - is it "mission critical" or "nice to have".
Mission Critical.
Component cables compress and convert a digital signal to analog at the source and uncompress and convert it back to digital at the destination. There is some noticeable signal degradation. A HDMI cable carries a fully uncompressed digital video and audio signal for the maximum in picture clarity and sharpness. On my Sony 42 inch LCD I noticed a difference right away. As far as HDMI cables go, no need to buy the "Monster" branded cables they charge an arm and a leg and all the reports I have read state that nobody buy monsters CEO can tell the difference between their $100 cable and a $15 no name brand.
